The Glyph Group has formally been renamed “The John F. Harris Glyph Group”, in memory of our good friend John Harris, who was a founder of the Glyph Group and its leader for many years. John wrote three books that introduced many students to glyph decipherment: New and Recent Maya Hieroglyph Readings: Supplement to Understanding Maya Inscriptions,Understanding Maya Inscriptions: A Hieroglyph Handbook (with co-author Stephen Stearns) and A Resource Bibliography for the Decipherment of Maya Hieroglyph and New Maya Hieroglyph Readings.
